Abstract
Recent additions in Praat are among others the VowelEditor and the KlattGrid. The VowelEditor demonstrates that by varying two formant frequencies only, one can create many different vowels and diphthongs. The KlattGrid is an acoustic speech synthesizer based on a source-filter model of speech production. It is modeled after the famous Klatt synthesizer. By varying parameters as a function of time you can create an infinite amount of speech sounds.
